What’s in Store for IT Infrastructure in 2018?

We looked into our crystal ball and this is what we found.

  1. Rise in Ransomware

Expect an increase in malicious attacks in 2018. Juniper Research tells us that the cyber crimes will create $2.1 trillion in business losses by 2019! That’s a lot of money!

  1. Artificial Intelligence

AI will minimize human errors, improve operations, and ultimately decrease operational costs. Like it or not, AI is here to stay.

  1. Cost Optimization

Low cost still wins so you will find commodity hardware outpacing branded versions. Even better will be software with built-in intelligence that provides consistent premium performance at least cost.

  1. Evergreen Technology

Have you heard the term Evergreen? It refers to infrastructures that will never again require forklift upgrades. Data migrations will become a thing of the past as intelligent software continually manages this complex process.

  1. Climate Change

With our environment playing nastily with us, IT departments will take steps to protect data, including synchronous replication to multiple locations. Multi-site is king.
