From a humble window-washing company to now a full-service facilities management company, ABM prides itself on solving problems for its customers.
But who solves problems for ABM? When data management issues came calling, ABM needed someone to turn to. Enter: ioFABRIC.
Solving problems for the problem-solver
Tony Gouyer, Senior Systems Engineer, Global Infrastructure Services at ABM, knew that there were some issues that needed real attention. Between a spike in email growth and associated costs, Tony was looking at the public cloud to lower CAPEX and ease the burden on their on-premise servers.
Tony mentioned, “We were looking for a solution for our data storage and turning to the public cloud to lower CAPEX. We were hoping to migrate email out of our US sites to bring our utilization down on our existing storage platforms.”
ioFABRIC in action
When they got ioFABRIC running in their infrastructure, they immediately saw the value.
“The install was very simple. The 3 node cluster was up and operational within 2 hours,” Tony said.
They saw simple but powerful benefits from the software.
If users were asking for more performance for their applications, ABM used ioFABRIC’s customizable storage policies to automatically ensure the right resources matched with the right workloads.
Tony added resiliency to his site by keeping multiple copies of disks without using VMware to clone VMs.
With ioFABRIC, ABM could easily facilitate data migrations while applications were still up and running – taking away the risks and stress of migrations.
